Kitchen Cleaning Tips

Keeping the kitchen clean is essential for perfect hygiene and to prepare meals in the best conditions. Read our 10 tips to keep your kitchen tidy every day!

Often considered as the main room of the house, the modular kitchen in chennai is a convivial place where meals are prepared and where you can even eat when you are lucky enough not to have a kitchen that is too small.

But how do you keep the kitchen clean and tidy without spending hours in it every week?

Here are our 10 tips and daily tasks to get there without difficulty:

1. Organization

Set up the following 3 areas :

Dishes: everyday dishes, the sink and the dishwasher
Cooking: utensils, plates and ovens
Reserve: fridge and groceries

Organize your kitchen around these 3 spaces, and put any utensils, accessories or appliances near their dedicated area.

This way, you will waste less time in the kitchen, you will only dirty one corner of the room each time and you will save a lot of time on cleaning.

2. The worktop

Do not put anything as decoration on the work surface, this will make the cleaning task difficult.

For a work surface that is always spotless, it is imperative to clean it immediately after cooking and as soon as you see a splash, crumbs or a spot of sauce.

By wiping the surface clean immediately, you prevent grease from sticking to the surface and stains from drying out, which again makes cleaning faster.

3. The refrigerator

Clean the refrigerator weekly, before shopping.

Discard expired food and leftovers as they will contaminate fresh food.

Place food in appropriate areas for better storage and freshness.

4. The trash can

Choose a bin with a lid and place it under the sink.

Empty it every day or every other day and clean it weekly to avoid unpleasant odours.

5. The ground
For a spotless floor, sweep or mop often.

Don't
wait until something has fallen or spilled on the floor to clean kitchen tiles!

6. The scullery

Separate the food you will be serving daily from the food you will be storing as it is intended to be eaten later.

Store the former in a kitchen cupboard and store the rest in the back kitchen, cellar or garage.

This will allow you to have a better organized kitchen, keep everything you need on hand and have better stock management.

7. Household Appliances

Keep the devices used daily within easy reach.

The rest will find its place in the cupboards.

And to prevent appliances you don't use from taking up unnecessary space in the kitchen, get rid of appliances you no longer use.

8. Cleaning

Clean your work surface every day.

Scrub the rest (cupboard, sideboard, hob, appliances and furniture) weekly with a damp sponge or microfibre cloth.

The oven can be cleaned quarterly or monthly, depending on how often you use it.

And the floor, every week or more depending on how often you use your kitchen and the age of your family members.

If you have young children at home, you may need to clean the floor more often because small bits tend to make a lot of food fall on the floor.
